The Fold

New replacement dwelling, with single level, fully wheelchair accessible design formed from separate modules for living, sleeping and carer accommodation, articulated by dividing fin-walls to create distinct areas of varying privacy, shading and activity within the house. Layout responds directly to the topography of the site, arcing around the gently sloping bank and taking full advantage of the south facing garden. Gently undulating green rooflines over each module are inspired by the peaked skyline of the Malvern Hills beyond. Redbrick fin-walls respond directly to the local vernacular, whilst large areas of south facing glazing open the building up to the south and emphasise the visual connection with the landscape.
