The Links

Upton-on-Severn, Worcestershire

New four bedroom riverside house in a sloping, wooded setting, will be home to three generations with shared living space, and separate wings for quiet time apart. Designed as a series of ‘links’, stepping down this steeply sloping site, breaking down the apparent scale of the building when viewed from beyond the site. Individual modules can be positioned almost independently of one another, enabling the layout to respond to specific trees and other site constraints. The offset angle of each linking module provides opportunity to open up south facing river views into all the principal spaces. Dynamic sense of space and light created, with a playful interconnection of the volumes oversailing and linking to one another with balconies, galleries, bridge links and ‘outside rooms’. Full RIBA services. Conditional Planning Approval achieved.  Technical Design to begin shortly.
