Sustainability

At Vivid Architects we have considerable expertise in green issues and environmental design. Wherever possible we encourage clients to adopt sustainable principles as a design driver, including optimal layout and orientation, reduction of energy in use, maximum natural daylighting, sustainable choice of materials and construction technology, and a sensitive response to existing ecosystems on site. Our projects include a range of solutions including GSHP, CHP, heat exchange systems, super insulation, biomass boilers, solar thermal, PVs and Passivhaus design.

We are currently working on a project in partnership with academics from the MA Zero Carbon Architecture and Retrofit Design course at Birmingham School of Architecture, Birmingham City University. The Course Director, Professor Lubo Jankovic, has gained an international reputation in the field for his 2012 book entitled ‘Designing Zero Carbon Buildings’.
